A picture which recently went viral on social media platforms of a lady that had given birth to sextuplets did not originate from Zimbabwe, our fact check reveals.

On many social media platforms in Zimbabwe, many claimed the lady is from the southern province of Masvingo.

Trending on many social media platforms, it was wrongly captioned; “A Zimbabwean woman in Masvingo yesterday gave birth to six children after thirteen years without a single child. Congratulations.”

However, a simple Google Reverse image check shows the picture originated from Nigeria.
